Please note: Some banks send an automatic reply to their clients. In the response, the bank usually stresses the importance of socially and environmentally responsible entrepreneurship. While some banks genuinely mean this, others may write this to avoid bad publicity. Some banks will add they are willing to improve their policies.

The initiators of the Fair Bank Guide are convinced that most banks will improve their social and environmental policies if their clients put them under pressure by repeating their request and expressing their concern.
