Change banks
Are you unhappy with your bank’s behaviour? You could consider switching to a more ethical bank. It’s easier than you think!
Transfer service: how does it work?
First you register as a new client with your new bank. Then you apply for the free transfer service. Within a few weeks, your new bank sends you a new account number. Your new bank also arranges for all your transactions to be transferred from the old account to the new one. You see which credits and debits have been transferred on your account statement.
During an intermediate period of 13 months, you can use special transfer cards to notify all organisations of your new account number. You can also transfer your automatic payment orders.
After 13 months, the transfer service ends and you continue with your new account.
The Fair Bank Guide takes care of it
The Fair Bank Guide has made it even easier for Dutch citizens to change banks. Below you’ll find direct links to banks that agreed to send us information. With a single click, you can apply for a new account with the bank of your choice. You will automatically receive the application package for your new account and the transfer service.
It’s a matter of completing the form and posting it. Easy, isn’t it?
